Data Sources
Where our SKU specs and market signals come from—and what they are (and are not).
Sources we may use
MarketSignalIndex aggregates and normalizes information from a combination of sources, which may include:
- Publicly available product listings
- Manufacturer specifications and documentation
- Distributor and reseller catalogs
- Structured datasets compiled from public references
- Manual research and normalization
Verified contributors vs observed sources
Prices on MarketSignalIndex come from two types of sources:
- Verified contributors — sellers and distributors with a formal data relationship with MarketSignalIndex. Their inventory is submitted directly and refreshed on a regular cadence. These sources are marked Verified on market pages.
- Observed sources — publicly available listings observed from seller websites and market feeds. These sources have no affiliation with MarketSignalIndex and have not endorsed or partnered with us. Seller names are cited for attribution only.
The distinction matters: verified data is fresher, more complete, and carries higher confidence. Observed data reflects public ask prices at time of observation and may lag real market conditions.
Attribution
We do not claim ownership of manufacturer trademarks, product names, or brand identifiers. All such references are used strictly for descriptive purposes. Observed seller names are cited factually — their appearance on this site does not imply affiliation, endorsement, or partnership.
Important notes
- Data may be delayed, partial, or subject to change
- Not all sellers or regions are represented
- Availability and pricing signals are indicative, not authoritative
